How Philly HRO chooses topics, sources facts, handles numbers, reviews compliance pieces, corrects errors, uses AI tools, and discloses its publisher.

What we cover

HR, payroll, tax, and employer compliance for companies in the greater Philadelphia region with roughly 5 to 150 employees. If a topic would read the same in another city, it is probably not for us.

How we choose topics

Reader questions, changes in law or regulation, and gaps we find when we search for an answer and cannot find a clear one. We do not choose topics to promote any service.

Where we have a point of view

On the question of how a small company should get HR done, we have one, and we state it. We think most growing companies without an HR department are better served by full HR outsourcing, where an outside team runs the function and the company stays the employer, than by co-employment or by administrative-only services. That is a view about a category, not a recommendation of any firm, and our publisher is in that category. We say when the other models are the better answer, and our decision tools send readers there when they are.

How we source

Every factual claim traces to a source a reader can check. For law and regulation, we cite the statute, ordinance, regulation, or the agency’s own page first, and law firm analysis second. For pricing, we cite published rate cards and name them. For data, we cite the dataset and the date. Sources are listed at the end of every piece. We do not use anonymous sources for compliance content.

How we handle numbers

Where a source gives a range, we give the range. Where we do arithmetic on published figures to build an example, we label it as an example and show the inputs. We do not publish estimates as if they were measurements.

Review

Before a compliance piece publishes, we check its rates, thresholds, and deadlines against the primary sources it cites: the statute, ordinance, or regulation, or the agency’s own page. The editor named in the byline approves every piece and is responsible for its accuracy. When an outside professional with HR or legal credentials has also reviewed a piece, their name appears in the byline block. Every piece carries a “current as of” date. Laws change; the date tells you how fresh the piece is.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it in the piece, note the correction at the bottom with the date, and, for anything material, mention it in the next newsletter. Send corrections to editor@phillyhro.com.

Use of AI tools

We use AI tools for research assistance, drafting, and copy editing. Every piece is planned, fact-checked, edited, and approved by a named human editor, who is responsible for its accuracy. No piece is published without human review.

Our publisher

Philly HRO is published and funded by RX2 Solutions, an HR outsourcing and staffing firm in Newtown Square, PA. RX2 does not review or approve individual pieces before publication. We do not review, rate, or rank RX2 against other providers. Where a piece describes a method RX2 uses, we attribute it and link to it as we would any source. We do not accept paid placements. If that ever changes, paid content will be labeled and its links marked accordingly.

We write for general information. Rules have exceptions and your situation may be one. The sources we cite are the place to confirm how a rule applies to you.
